Liam is doing the 5th grade program at school this week….it’s a Living History Museum and the person he is portraying is Samuel Adams. Here he is all decked out as Sam and of course, Briggs HAD do do what Liam was doing! Liam actually made him the hat (there may be hope for them to someday shift from mortal enemies to friends!) and the as we pieced Liam’s costume together, Briggs found similar pieces to make his. It was so cute!
We had another round of Snowmaggedon or Snowpocalypse this week. The storm hit early Wednesday morning and the kids were out of school for the rest of the week. Oh yeah…..it was 61 degrees today! We went from the teens, with a windchill of below zero to spring weather in 3 days!!! Gotta love that Oklahoma weather!!!
Earlier this week Lydia was having problems with what we thought was Pink Eye….but thanks to Dr. Mom AKA Grandma Kathie, we took her in to the doctor and found out that it was Periorbital Cellulitis. It’s an infection of the tissue and her eye was so red and swollen. She was also in a lot of pain and I felt so bad! The doctor said that we came in at the right time (thanks Mom!) because she was about 2 steps, in the infection process, of needing to be hospitalized. Scary! Luckily, it only took about 5 hours after we started the antibiotic for her to be feeling better and the swelling to start going away. On a more spiritual note, Chuck gave her a special blessing on Monday night, when it was at it’s peak, so that she’d be able to sleep and not be in so much pain (Sunday night and Monday day were horrible!) and she slept well and the swelling & redness actually went down a little by the time we got to the Dr. the next morning. I’m so grateful for doctors and friends who help out and especially for Mom….Lydia is doing great now. She’s back to her normal, feisty, energetic self!!!
p.s. As an interesting side note, I also had cellulitis when I was younger….I was about 2 and it was on my leg but still…..is she my daughter or what?!
