Cute Pink Cast!

We went to the doctor yesterday and they put this cute pink cast on Lydia. It was definitely a spiral fracture of the tibia and honestly, I was so glad they put the cast on! Sunday and Monday were very hard days as the pain started wearing off for Lydia and she wanted to get down and move around! It was like Sacrament Meeting ALL day (and we all know how fun it to sit through an hour of church with an 18 month old:) trying to keep her from bearing any weight on it! Aughhhh! So, she's adjusting to it---she can't quite walk yet, but can crawl around and basically "drag" her leg behind her. It's so sad! But she's getting used to it and was much happier today. We go back in on March 17th and they expect to take it off then. Feel free to come on over and sign her "ow" as she calls it!

ER Visit---Lydia's climbing days are on hold!

Well, we've had our 1st E R visit (not bad for 4 kids and 11 years later!) on Wednesday and oddly enough, it was for Lydia.  I seriously would have thought the first would have been Briggs! :)  Anyway, she was at the park with our babysitter (who is wonderful, amazing, trustworthy and THE best---so don't feel bad, Christina!) and they were going down the slide together.  Lydia moved her leg and it got twisted up under Christina's leg.  They came home because Lydia was so upset and I just cuddled her for awhile.  After a few minutes I tried to put her down and she crumbled to the floor---RED FLAG!  I tracked Chuck down at work and he came home and we went straight to the ER.  4 Hours later (yuck!) they had her in a splint and the Radiologist called back the next day to say that we needed to see a pediatric orthopedic doctor. We see him on Tuesday and they'll decide then if it needs to be in a cast.  They said it's a spiral fracture in the right tibia (I have NO idea if I'm spelling all of this correctly!). Needless to say, she's in a lot of pain and HATES not being able to climb, walk, run etc... Bless her little heart....I feel so bad for her!  We'll keep you posted.

Lydia's MK Party

After a facial I had here last week, Lydia had her own MK Party--she was in heaven!  I have to pull the chairs away from the table now because she'll climb up on ANYTHING! She's quite the "whirling dirvish"---just like her Mommy was...she even looks just like me!  (it's not MY fault! :) ---  ok, so maybe it is! hee, hee!)

Cool glasses!

Liam is following in his mother's footsteps and got glasses at the ripe old age of 8!  (Sorry, Liam!)  He loves them though and we all think they look very cool.  Not only IS he smart, now he LOOKS smart!

Sadie's 4th grade program

Sadie sang in the 4th Grade Program---Destination America--- and it was SO great! They had FUN songs and actions and did a wonderful job. It's always fun to watch your kids perform and show their talents off...she has such a pretty voice!

DREAM COME TRUE---Celine!

Celine Dion has always been one of my FAVORITE singers...every since I fell in love with some of her french music that I heard on my mission.  Well, I FINALLY got to see her in concert!  My friend, Caroline, worked her magic and got us tickets (AWESOME SEATS!) to the concert and it was simply everything I'd imagined. AMAZING!!! She is quite the performer and sang MOST of my favorite songs.  LOVED IT!  The funny thing is the tickets said "no cameras" so being the obedient little girls that we are, we took a picture at Outback Steakhouse before going to the concert, because we just HAD to document the event, left the camera in the car and guess what......they never checked purses for cameras (which they usually do) AND everyone else had cameras! Aughh! Our seats were so great that we would have had amazing pictures, but oh well....I'll just have to go next time she comes to get more pictures!  Thanks for a FUN girls night out, Caroline! (Chuck was very jealous so he's definately going next time!)

Briggs has a Kissing Handbook!

Briggs was watching Star Wars today and I told him that I was going to fast forward the "kissing part" and he said, "No! I love the kissing part!" I laughed and thought he was kidding but he wasn't!  He said, "Mom, I read the Kissing Handbook at school! (that surprised me!) "You go like this…you put your hand up, spread your fingers, kiss your hand and blow it! That's how you kiss and I LOVE the kissing parts!"  Come to find out, he was referring to "The Kissing Hand"  & "Pocket Full Of Kisses" both darling books that we actually have.  I'd just never heard it called the KISSING HANDBOOK!  They're so sweet...they're about feeling your mommy's love when you're at school...I love them!

2 Tornado stories

I just thought I'd share a few personal close calls from 2 of my friends.  Kylee, my office assistant, works as at the Waterloo Baptist Church Mother's Day Out program and they were also in lockdown because the tornado was coming up Waterloo Rd.!  They lost all power and cell phone use and just sat there in the dark waiting....and praying! Luckily they weren't hit, but the gas station a few 100 feet away was and the whole area was closed down because of the gas leaks. Scary!

Tammy Nixon, a good friend and the director I do my MK trainings with had 8 homes at the entrance of her subdivision hit...less that 1/2 a mile away!  Power lines were down everywhere and they couldn't get out of their subdivision except for by the back roads.

Thankfully, everyone is safe and in Edmond there were no fatalities.  Others South of us weren't so lucky...I've heard that anywhere from 8-15 have been found dead and they had to suspend the searches about 1 am this morning because of the live wires and debris. Keep them in your prayers!

Mother Nature's Dancing Fury!!

This tornado formed near Mitch park, about 3 miles from our house (which is plenty), but we sometimes play at Mitch park with the kids. It's a little surreal. Thankfully neither we, nor any of our friends, were directly affected. However, in tornado alley your heart always feels somewhat of the pain your fellow neighbors are enduring. Please pray for them.

Twinner Hair

Lydia's hair is getting so long that it just hangs in her eyes. I can't bear to cut it though so we've been getting very creative! Sadie and Lydia had twinner hair for church yesterday. Although, by the time I remembered to take a picture, Lydia was NOT in the mood for pics!

Masquerade Ball--Mary Kay Style!

These pictures are just TOO fun NOT to share!  Mary Kay always does amazing parties for us! From the food, to the decor, the entertainment (which was SO first class!)  and even prizes you can win. I won the necklace I'm wearing!  We got to make the masks they had and my little creative side was in heaven!  So much fun!!!

MK Directors---4 Generations!

This picture (4 of us in our chocolate director suits) is a "4 Generation" photo. Except it's backwards! :)  From right to left is the order....Me, then Allison, Collen & the Carie. How great is it that we're all directors and have so much fun in MK together?! It's really a neat thing to help women take financial control of their lives while teaching them balance and time management so they can keep their priorities in order.  Plus, it's FUN! :)  Just thought I'd share a little about me & what I do.....

Mary Kay Friends

Here are my 3 favorite people in MK!  They are my offspring Sales Directors meaning that they were in my unit and are now directors. They are from left...Brittany (who was a missionary in our ward in Stillwater and we stayed in touch...I LOVE having her in MK!) Allison (the bombshell blonde!) was my first offspring and is a dear friend,  (me) and then Susi is on the end and we have so much in common with our personalities and being book-a-holics!. I just love all of them. Brittany is my newest offspring as of Sept. 1 so this was her first Leadership Conference and it was FUN!

Ice Storms, Arizona & Some of my FAVORITE people!

Ahhhh.....Arizona!  I was so blessed to leave the ice storms & school closings in Oklahoma and visit beautiful Arizona for my annual Mary Kay Leadership Conference last week.  I couldn't have picked a better time to go because we literally had school closing etc...because of the ice storms.  My mom was here and she truly is a saint...THANKS MOM for helping!  She got more than she bargained for!!!  Anyway, a HUGE highlight of the trip was seeing my cousin Jim and his wife, Mandi and family!  Jim and Mandi truly are some of my favorite people.  Funny story....Jim is actually my second cousin I'd only met a few times (since he lived in Montana) and had heard many of the stories about him---he was quite the rebel! He's a year younger than me and needless to say, when I found out a few months before coming home from my mission that he was living with my family, I was LESS than thrilled! All I remembered was his mullet haircut and that he wasn't very nice! (sorry Jim!)  Well, I was wrong.  I found out that he was a new man...literally, and we became fast friends. He and his wife are THE BEST and it was such a treat to see them and their sweet little family.  I love you guys!
