My Shirt says....

 
I found this shirt at Walmart and couldn't resist it! Chuck frequently says that Briggs is the fulfillment of the curse that his mom put on him when he was little....that of, "I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU GROW UP AND HAVE A CHILD JUST LIKE YOU!"  (my mom says I wasn't a sweet angel either but we won't talk about that! :) Anyway, the funny part is that when we asked him yesterday what his shirt said, he answered,"It says Grandma loves me!"  That's for you, Grandma Kathie....so cute!

Liam LOVES cub scouts!

One more quick thing about Liam....he is LOVING being a Cub Scout!  He earned his Bobcat in 3 weeks and reads his book all the time to figure out what he can pass off. It's so cute! Chuck has been a big help to him too.  Welcome to the world of scouting!

Liam is so creative!

Here's Liam's video description of the gingerbread house he made at school.  He's so creative and uses his mind constantly! He was accepted a few months ago into the Enrichment/Gifted program and loves it.  He came home one day and said, "Hey Mom, guess what I learned today? The Fibonacci sequence!" The whatsawhosahuh?!?!?!?  He was so impressed with himself! :)  Here's the wikipedia definition of the Fibonacci sequence---

In mathematics, the Fibonacci numbers are a sequence of numbers named after Leonardo of Pisa, known as Fibonacci (a contraction of filius Bonaccio, "son of Bonaccio"). Fibonacci's 1202 book Liber Abaci introduced the sequence to Western European mathematics, although the sequence had been previously described in Indian mathematics.[2][3]

The first number of the sequence is 0, the second number is 1, and each subsequent number is equal to the sum of the previous two numbers of the sequence itself, yielding the sequence 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, etc. In mathematical terms, it is defined by the following recurrence relation:

Lydia in the kitchen

Lydia is our little "helper"! She loves to empty all the drawers in the kitchen (and bathroom) and then run the other way as fast as she can. She gets quite the kick out of it so it's hard to be mad at her...she's just so cute! She also loves helping with the dishes and this is her latest discovery...she can stand on the door! I've never been so fast at loading and unloading the dishwasher in my life. I have to try to get it done FAST before she knows I'm doing it!

I miss Sadie!

We spent last weekend with my  parents and Dan & Celeste and family (my brother) in Kansas and had a wonderful time. It's so nice that my mom and dad are only 2.5 hours away! Anyway, we decided last minute that Sadie was going to stay with Grandma and then go up to Dan & Celeste's for a few days so she's been gone all week. She's having a great time, is a little homesick but managing....it's MOM that can't wait to get her back! I miss her! :) But I'm so glad she gets to have a fun time with her cousins and grandma and grandpa.  These pictures are of her and her friend, Ellie. They like to dress up in my formal dresses ( we pin them in the back so they fit and they just don't like the little bolero jackets that go with them...too big!) and play princess.  Ellie was standing over the heater vent and the heat came on and it poofed her dress out...fun, girl time.  It was the most recent picture I have of her and I think it's so cute I thought I'd share. Can't wait for tomorrow night when she gets home!

I just love these pictures of Lydia---mainly because she's so dang cute, but I'm a little biased! :) I also love the outfit...aunt Kellie let us borrow it and the coat is just too cute!  The rocking chair is Lydia's favorite ( and I have to keep the other kids out of it too!) and Grandma Kathie gave her that for Christmas. Love you guys!
 

Our Nazarene Supper

I need to get used to this blog thing...keeping up with it! :) Our family always does a Nazarene Supper on Christmas Eve where we dress in clothes similar to what the Savior would have worn and then eat foods---fish, dried fruit, cheese, breadsticks---that he would have eaten. We had our friends, the Zeas, join us and had a fun night. It's just a nice way to keep the Savior the focal point of the season. I love doing it!
