Hair Stylist in the making…unfortunately!

Lydia decided to cut her hair…..I still can’t believe it.  We talk frequently about how we never cut hair (only paper)  because she is obsessed with her hair. She loves to brush it, put clips in it, use half a bottle of Sadie’s Biosilk Serum (for keeping your hair healthy while using a flat iron---gosh that was a mess to get out), hairspray, gel….just about anything to do with hair.  She also likes to do other people’s hair. Chuck caught her with the scissors the other day---poised and ready to cut her hair--- so I  guess this was just the disaster waiting to happen.  As you can tell by the look on her face, she knows she did something major.  Mommy was amazing though (If I do say so myself!)----no freaking out, just complete, total, undescribable disbelief.  Why does she have to learn the hard way----by doing!? Gee…can’t wait until she’s a teenager!   So….laugh away….we are! :) And as Chuck keeps saying… “It’s only hair….it grows back.”

Side View---simply GORGEOUS!

This isn’t even half  of the hair that she cut off….ughhhhh…

Embarrassed

Lydia was too embarrassed after gettin her hair cut...

She was quite embarrassed to show us and REALLY didn’t want a picture AT ALL.  What a day!

After the “fix”

Here’s what she looked like when Chuck got home from taking her to the salon.  Sheesh….silly girl!  I still am in shock!

Final look

Here’s what we came up with in the end…pretty cute but a little bit of maintenance!  She just needs to keep the headband in!  Poor girl was really embarrassed to go to church today but she survived.  We are going to have so many stories to burn her with when she’s older!!!

Briggs lost his first tooth!

We’ve been watching Briggs loose tooth for about a week now….waiting for his first tooth to fall out and FINALLY it did!  Although, we’re not sure when or where.  Grandma Kathie and Grandpa Don surprised us for a nice visit (Don was working in Dallas so Kathie flew out to meet him for the weekend and then they drove up here. So fun to see them!)  and while we were sitting around talking we noticed that his tooth was gone!  Luckily, the Tooth Fairy understood because Sadie helped him write a note explaining the situation.  He still got his money for leaving it under his pillow and he can officially join the “big kids” now!!! What a cutie!

Sadie AKA…Math WIZ!!!

We are SO proud of Sadie!!!  The poor girl got her Mom’s math skills.  When she came home last semester with a all A’s and B’s and then a D in math, she was so upset and even more worried that we would be mad at her.  I think I shocked her by saying, “Hey…your report card looks like mine always looked!” :)  We got her the most amazing tutor---she really is a huge blessing. And Sadie has been working really hard too….well, it paid off.  She got her mid term progress report and she has an A!!!!!  Way to go, Sadie!!!

Liam was Samuel Adams

Liam did a GREAT job in his Living History Museum as Samuel Adams. He especially LOVED the dance part….not! :)  But his presentation was really good and he even got to do it the next morning for several of the classrooms.  He’s adjusting well to his new school and seems to be really happy.
